Every two years, Arts Services Inc. of Western New York and Buffalo Council Member Joel Feroleto hold an event at Hertel Avenue to revitalize an alley that runs behind a long block of businesses on the South side of the street. Each semi-ephemeral iteration means another round of primer to cover over the old murals, another call for artists, and another weekend of folks painting from dawn to dusk as crowds of spectators cheer them on. In 2025 Connolly participated in this event. Her depiction of an old photo showing an everyday scene at the downtown obelisk, McKinley Monument, is invaded by herself and her daughter in modern-day color, and staged on a table surface with a set of playing cards. The artist, her daughter, and two unnamed people from the past spend two years quietly asking their neighbors to consider the Queen City’s past and its future (also, Go Bills).
