All artwork photographed by Claire Connolly.

Throughout the years she spent obtaining an undergraduate art degree, a graduate art education degree, pursuing art adjacent careers, enduring an ambivalent relationship with artmaking, and finally embracing it, Connolly has produced art. This personal body of work ranges from more formal undertakings, like oil paintings, murals, and sculptural objects/assemblages (above), to informal sketchbook sessions (below). Family history—especially her paternal grandmother—looms large. Still, an affinity for people watching, and a curiosity about the depths within ordinary moments also emerge. She welcomes messages (see contact page) from anyone who has looked through these images and feels a connection—intellectual, emotional or otherwise. We never know where the next project/collaboration will arise.
